The First Whistle!

A long desired visit to the National rail museum here in New Delhi, India let out a silent memory long encased in the depths of sublime consciousness. Long ago, I believe I would have been not elder than five years or so - something I do not remember but thankfully my parents do- I was taken into a steam engine. It soundes silly that one should, after all these years, recount one's visit to a steam engine made some 17 years back. But it all makes sense to me. Somewhere the memories of the snorting dragon remains till date, and little really has changed. Visiting the museum again and getting to see the mammoth but gentle giants of the past silent in their hour of contamplation was a trip down memory lane. And somewhere within the desire to see them in action arose and I wondered if there were others who shared the same nostalgia. There would be, I thought, for this world is a wide place and thus the idea of this page on the internet.
